Soundgarden Collaborates With Guitar Hero

For the first time, a new music album is being released with a game.

The first one million Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock launch units released in the U.S. will contain Soundgarden's new 12-song album Telephantasm. In the first week, this will be the only way fans can get their hands on the album. That day, fans will also gain access to the album as downloadable content in the game.

The single from the album, “Black Rain,” will debut exclusively in the game.

Also, if you live in the Chicago area, Soundgarden is offering you the chance to win tickets to this week's sold out show at the Vic tonight.

Tickets and other prizes will be hidden in various locations around the city and clues of their whereabouts will be left via Twitter and Foursquare.  Today, a member of the Soundgarden team will travel the city streets using Foursquare's mobile app to "check in" at a handful of locations leaving pairs of tickets and mementos along the way. The first lucky fan to check in at each location after the band will win the tickets.
