The Shorty Awards honor people and organizations on Twitter. Online voting is public, culminating in an awards ceremony that recognizes the winners in 27 official categories as well as those in brand new crowd-sourced ones.

Nominations are open and any Twitter user can to nominate others based on their entire body of tweets, not just an individual one. In February, the nominees will be narrowed to five finalists in each category. Winners will be determined by a combination of votes and members of the new Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences. An awards ceremony, complete with 140-character acceptance speeches, will be held in March in New York

So far, nominations in the music category are pretty slim, so get going.  (You can even nominate Hypebot, if you want to.) Nominations are made by sending a tweet from the Shorty Awards site or on Twitter.City.
