MidemNet Day 2
This was the final day of MidemNet and the first day of the broader Midem music industry trade show. MidemNet was a real success though like most things there is always room for improvement. The wonderful Reed Midem team are fabulous hosts and very much about creating the best show possible.
In our closing Visionary Chair Committee sedsion, there was a real sense of optimism that even in (or perhaps because of) a recession this will be another year of major changes in the industry: mobile music improved sound, various new models which will need to be given more time to mature before the rights holders start pouncing. Terry McBride and I agreed that some of the most interesting stuff wasn't ever going to be at any conference because it was being created in a garage or dorm room somewhere.
