UMG Teams With Teen Destination Kiwibox

Universal Music Group and Kiwibox, a social networking destination and online magazine for teens have announced that UMG videos will be available on the site. UMG video content will be ad supported and Kiwibox, artists, labels and copyright holders will all receive a share of revenue from the ads.

The deal may signal Universal’s willingness to cut revemue sharing deals with smaller niche sites. For while Kiwibox delivers a targeted teen demo and its numbers are growing (see Alexa charts here), the destination’s Alexa web ranking is 24,289 compared to MySpace at #7.
