WMG Spawns Den Of Theives
They can’t make money selling music anymore; so why not TV?
Warner Music Group has created a new production division with a title certain to instill confidence in today’s savvy artists – Den Of
Thieves. Headed by two ex-MTV staffers the unit will create and sell original programming for
TV, DVD, broadband and mobile primarily using label talent.
"As we continue our evolution as a music-based content company, it is essential to bring in-house the expertise to create the highest quality music-based original programming…aggressively developing new creative content and creating new revenue streams…", WMG exec Lyor Cohen said in a press release.
Oh…and P.S. Yesterday we laid of 400 people.
