CanadaflagAs the gap between what’s popular and what most music critics think is good grows, it was encouraging to see an introspective piece by Toronto Star critic Ben Rayner who at least admits many of the sins of your average music critic including:

  • Familiarity should not always breed contempt.
  • Nickleback is not as bad as the critics like to pretend and working to please your audience isn’t a sin.
  • Success doesn’t always equal bad.
