Technology Almost Trumps Music At This Year’s Lollapalooza
Watching live video feeds in an air-conditioned tent. Checking email and and blogging live from free wireless laptops. Playing the latest video games. Texting friends from their cells while waiting in line. Live streaming over cell and the net for those who couldn’t make the show. All from this year’s Lollapalooza Festival.
This tech savvy generation is not about to leave their cell phones, iPods and twenty-four hour connections to their tribe at home when they attend a concert. Smart festival promoters including Bonnaroo, Coachella, and even the roots focused Austin City Limits Festival are finding creative ways to combine the love of tech and music. The same technology is also enabling them to extend their brands and those of many of the artists that performed beyond the festival grounds. (more from AP)
