UK Livecoders Create Dance Music From The Code Up

In the UK, "Livecoding" DJ’s are leaving the turntables and instruments at home and improvising using computer programming to build compositions from the ground up authoring raw code before a live audience.

Typing on a screen at raves and dance clubs, the livecoders create a visual and musical experience. Sessions with drummers, MCs and other coders are reminiscent of free-jazz improvisation according to Wired.  They’ve even formed a group to exchange ideas called TopLap.
