MusicGiants Offers Higher Quality Downloads
MusicGiants.com launched a new music download service yesterday designed to stand out in a crowded market by appealing to high-end listeners. The company has reached licensing deals with all the major music labels including EMI, Sony/BMG, Universal and The Warner Music Group for its service, which it claims is the first to offer music files in Microsoft Corp’s Windows Media Audio "lossless" format which has up to seven times the sound quality of downloads from other commercial music services according MusicGiants. The tracks will be priced at $1.29 each, rahter than the industry norm of 99 cents. Customers must first register online, get the software via download or CD-ROM, and open an account by paying a $50 annual fee. MusicGiants then credits new customers the full $50 each for future music purchases.
