    I HAD THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM WITH MY iPOD. USUALLY, WHEN THIS “LOCKING COMBINATION” APPEARS THE COMBINATION IS USUALLY 0-0-0-0. IF IT DOESNT WORK FOR YOU GO TO NEAREST APPLE STORE OR PLUG IT IN TO iTUNES

  103. jst open up ur ipod from “my computer” and type E:/ipod_control\Device\ into the address bar then when it opens it will show a few files. delete _locked file and unplug ur ipod. this works for a nano but i dnt know about any other models although it might so just try it
    Note: in my case it was E:/ but it might be different in your case. just leave the letter that is there in the first place

  111. I KNOW HOW TO UNLOCK AN IPOD
    FIRST IN ITUNES ENABLE DISK VIEW ON YOUR IPOD AND OPEN IT FROM MY COMPUTER THEN CLICK TOOLS AND FOLDER OPTIONS THEN CLICK ON THE VIEW TAB OF THE WINDOW THAT COMES UP NEXT LOOK AT ADVANCED SETTINGS TICK THE “SHOW HIDEN FILES AND FOLDERS” BOX AND CLICK APPLY AND OK YOU SHOULD NOW SEE A FILE CALLED “iPod_Control” OPEN IT AND OPEN “DEVICE” FOLDER YOU SHOULD SEE A FILE CALLED “_LOCKED” RENAME IT TO UN_LOCKED AND THATS IT YOU CAN EJECT
    BUT IT DOESENT RESET THE CODE IT JUST UNLOCKES IT AGAIN

  112. i thort of a better way to UNLOCK AN IPOD
    click start and run then enter what ever letter your drive is eg: F:\ OR G:\ OR H:\
    then type:
    iPod_Control\Device
    after the lettter
    YOU SHOULD SEE A FILE CALLED “_LOCKED” RENAME IT TO UN_LOCKED AND THATS IT YOU CAN EJECT
    BUT IT DOESENT RESET THE CODE IT JUST UNLOCKES IT AGAIN
