Old School Music Distributor IDN Lays Off 1/3 Of Fied Staff
The HolywoordReporter.com reports that old school distributor “the Innovative Distribution Network, the indie distribution arm of giant music wholesaler Alliance Entertainment Corp., laid off five salespeople – a third of its field sales staff – on Monday, according to sources. Among those let go was central regional director Pete Devries, who serviced key Minneapolis retailers Musicland and Best Buy; other exiting staffers handled such major accounts as Amazon and Trans World. IDN GM Lou DiBiase could not be reached for comment. Earlier this year, IDN lost a large chunk of its business when its biggest label, Concord Records, left for a deal with Universal Music Group.”
