10 things I did to make $2000 off my Brooklyn House Concert

I think knowing yourself is the ultimate task. We try so hard to do that with all our social media but we are all hurting. But what if you let everyone see how you were living??
In this new journey, I wanted to impress everyone by letting them see how I live. What I realized was that my house was a mess, so to solve that issue I’d put it on display, clean it, and force myself for it to be an success.
Before you sell a home you own it. Before you sell out a show you must promote it. For me, I wanted to also clean my home, and to really clean a house and create a new scene, it’ll cost some money.
And this I did! I sold out the show and had to add extra last-minute tickets. Exclusivity is the key to making almost rent money in one night. Here are 10 things I did.
1. I combined multiple facets of entertainment – Comedy, rock, rap, and scenery. The scenery was a backyard fire pit in Bushwick, Brooklyn, and a hot cocoa and marshmallow roast.
2. A Nice Party – It could’ve been a band show or a comedy show, but it wasn’t. I made it to the Hebrew Hot Cocoa House Soiree. We had acts from all over the country. One singer was from LA (REL). One rocker/ singer was from Australia (Gabriella Cohen) We made firewood accessible for those since it was 50 degrees.
3. VIP tickets $75 – The secret is VIP ticketing. I have been selling VIP tickets for the past few dates and with my new film and popularity from man-on-the-street interviews. I sold 9 $75 tickets for my pre-doc screening which showed and discussed the experience I had. I cooked salmon in my home and even though I did hot cocoa, this was the vibe.
4. Expensive tickets are not expensive: $36. It isn’t that expensive but with 35 people it’s perfect. Don’t be afraid to raise your prices on tickets. It’s not a show. It’s an experience!
5. Get a famous comic- I got Iris Bahr from Curb Your Enthusiasm. She is awesome but also brings the allure of superstardom to our backyard. Her son even got up and did some time! Aww!
6. Mobile Speaker x Stage –There was a stage but why not make it like a festival and move the stage around?
7. Personal Invites – The level of a personal touch is awesome. If you give the VIP representation with a personal invite, people feel more inclined to come to the thing.
8. Offering Free entrance – I offer free entry if you can’t afford it. I’d rather give you a free ticket at a high price than a free ticket at a low price. Free tickets at a low price aren’t worth as much as a higher price.
9. Performing unreleased music I have new music from my holiday portion like “dreidel dreidel”
10. Having surprises: Lil Mo Mozzarella does a drop-in on the comedy portion. Famous comics always do drop-ins all the time. But this added a special touch to the quality of your shows. He is selling out comedy shows all over due to his content creation. How ya’ doing? This sets the tone for famous drop-ins all over.
Extra Credit: We hinted at the next party, which is my Hannukcon tomorrow night, December 26th at Mercury Lounge with Yiddish Rock and a Jewish Rap and Klezmer DJ Set by Dj J-Ronin. It is the Jewish-themed holiday answer to Santacon and I’ll be performing all my holiday hits, a well as free knishes from Yonah Schimmels of the LES! (this is classic trust me)
