Steven Hill is new A2IM Board Chair

A2IM (American Association of Independent Music) representing over 600 independent record labels, has today announced Steven Hill, Head of North American & Global Marketing at Warp Records, as the new Chair of its 2024-2025 Board of Directors.

Hill joins treasurer Tony Alexander, Co-Founder and President of Made in Memphis Entertainment; and secretary Nabil Ayers, President of Beggars Group, as the current Executive Committee.

Alongside Tony Alexander and Nabil Ayers on our Executive Committee, we are well-positioned to champion the needs and interests of independent artists and labels, ensuring their voices are heard and their contributions recognized.”

The 2024-2025 A2IM board includes Terry McBride, CEO of Nettwerk Music Group, Louis Posen, Founder & President of Hopeless Records, Dee Diaz, SVP Marketing & Digital at Reach Records, Wilson Fuller of Merge Records, Tony Kiewel, President of Sub Pop Records, Hays Rudolph, General Counsel and VP of Business and Legal Affairs at Secretly Group, and Zena White, COO of Partisan Records.

A2IM represents independently owned small and medium-sized enterprises’ (SMEs) interests in the marketplace, in the media, on Capitol Hill, and as part of the global music community.

Billboard Magazine identified the Independent music label sector as 37.32% of the music industry’s U.S. recorded music sales market in 2016 based on copyright ownership, making Independent labels collectively the largest music industry sector.
