UPDATE: Spotify extends Musicians Wrapped deadline

Whether you’re an artist or a fan, Spotify Wrapped is one of the most exciting parts of the year! As a fan, you get to show off your impeccable taste. As an artist, this is the ultimate chance to make the most of all the features offered to your fans to both nourish your community AND amplify your music on Spotify at the same time. Ready to make the most of this year’s Spotify Wrapped? Here’s everything you need to know…
Record Your Clip
Make a memorable impact in your fans’ 2024 Wrapped experience by pre-recording a Clip by November 15. This under-30-second message gives you a chance to speak directly to fans who have been loyal listeners all year. Featured within the main Wrapped story and in a video feed for your top fans, this Clip brings a personal touch to the data-driven recap. Even after Wrapped, your Clip will remain on Spotify, appearing on your artist profile, Now Playing view, Release Pages, and Home — giving fans a lasting connection to your music.
In your video, make sure to answer one of the following prompts:
- Reveal which song you’ve loved performing this year.
- Drop the real meaning behind one of your new songs.
- Tell a story about writing a track.
When you’re ready to go, make sure to shoot your Clip vertically; feature no music, singing, or lyrics; no explicit content; no logos or brands; and no added text, graphics, or filters. Next, head to Spotify for Artists on desktop web, then Navigate to the Video & Visuals tab, click on the Wrapped banner, select the song that the Clip is about, and add a caption.
That’s it! Your Clip will be automatically scheduled to go live with Wrapped.
🚨 Note: You have until November 15 20 to submit your Clip for it to be featured in your top fans’ 2024 Wrapped experience. 🚨
Update Your Profile
Once Spotify’s Wrapped hits the scene, more fans are going to be directed to your profile than ever. That means you need everything on it to be accurate and updated beforehand. If you haven’t updated your merch on Spotify in a while, now is the time to do so. (You have until November 15th to publish existing, new, or exclusive merch to your Spotify profile via their Shopify integration.) In addition, double check all your social handles, make sure your bio is up to date, and if you have a charity you want to highlight on your page, make sure your Fan Support link is updated as well.
If you have a concert or festival appearance coming up, make sure it’s featured on your profile. To show your concerts on Spotify, you need to list them on a ticketing partner site like AXS, Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, Songkick or one of the many other ticketing sites listed here. As long as you’ve got tickets available on any of these sites, Spotify will promote them to your fans during this year’s Wrapped.
Hype Up What’s Next!
New year… new music? With the new year coming up fast, that hopefully means you’ve also got some new music coming out! With all eyes on Spotify Wrapped, now is a great time to highlight what’s coming up for you with Countdown Pages.
All the effort put into building the hype for your upcoming release often doesn’t directly translate into strong week-one performance. However, with Countdown Pages, “…more than 80% of pre-savers have streamed the new release within the first week.” Plus, fans who pre-save your album on your Countdown Page will get a push notification as soon as it’s released, and your album will be automatically added to their library, making streaming faster and easier than ever for your fans.
To create a Countdown Page, follow these steps:
- Log in to Spotify for Artists.
- Go to the Music tab then Upcoming.
- Select the release, and click Get Started.
- Upload Clips and tag your merch.
- Review and publish!
That’s a wrap!
I’m sure you all remember the dope assets that came with last year’s Spotify Wrapped. If you didn’t take advantage of them last year, now is your chance! Whether you’re re-sharing your fans’ posts on socials or posting your own assets from Spotify, make sure you’re getting in on the action.
By making the most of this year’s Wrapped wave, you may find yourself leaving 2024 with more fans than you ever anticipated.
