Music Marketing on YouTube Shorts just got 3X beter
Starting October 15, you can upload YouTube Shorts up to 3 minutes long.
Longer Shorts has been a top request from all creators, according to YouTube. For musicians shift from 60 seconds to three minutes means the opportunity to showcase much more than a snippet of a song or live performance.
YouTube is also hinting that Shorts may get even longer in the future.
Shorts is particualrly good for music marketing since many musicians already have a presence on the full YouTube platform. Activity there helps feed the algorithm on Shorts and vice versa.
Recent updates to the Shorts player also streamline its look, allowing creators’ content to take center stage.
