Audius signs licensing deals with ASCAP, BMI, GMR and SESAC
The artist-centric streaming platform Audius has signed licensing agreements with all four U.S. Performing Rights Organizations (PROs): ASCAP, BMI, GMR, and SESAC.
Songwriters whose songs are played on Audius will now receive performance royalties via their PRO.

It’s a major milestone and stamp of legitimacy for the upstart San Francisco-based blockchain-powered music platform, which claims over 5 million monthly users.
Audius describes itself as a “global decentralized music community and discovery platform,” owned and operated by an open-source community of artists, music fans, and developers globally.
In 2021, the company raised $5 million from its community and investors, including Katy Perry, Nas, the Chainsmokers, SESAC CEO John Josephson, former Sony Music Publishing boss Marty Bandier, Mark Gillespie, and Guy Oseary.
