Indie artist Beks bites back after allegedly falling victim $4800 Coachella Scam
UPDATED: LA-based Australian independent dance-pop artist Beks says she was scammed by a man who claimed to be a “seven-times Grammy Award-nominated producer and artist developer.”
Beks alleges that she was sucked into a “Coachella scam” that ultimately cost her $4800.
The alleged LA-based con artist claimed he would provide her an all-access pass to Coachella Weekend 1 plus accommodations at a location frequented by high-profile artists and producers.
Believing this could be the networking opportunity of a lifetime, Beks says she drained her bank account only to find out that the promised pass, accommodations, and introductions were all scams.
When she has reached out to at least get her money back, she says, “he’s giving me nothing but abuse,”
Beks identifies the alleged perpetrator and shares receipts on her Instagram to, she says, help others: “Shame on you for ripping off independent artists.”
UPDATE
The person whom Beks accuses of scamming has now publicly denied it, but she says she uncovered more artists who have allegedly been conned.
