Tell us about how you got your start in the music industry, and how it lead to the work you do today.
I moved to Los Angeles in 2020 after I graduated University in the UK with the hopes of starting over and finally venturing into the music industry. Shortly after I landed, COVID hit and I had to move back to London as I couldn’t afford to stay if I couldn’t work or network. So once I landed in London, I reached out to Emmavie on Instagram who is still to this day one of my favourite R&B artists. A week later I joined her management team and from there started meeting some of my favourite producers/artists in the Alternative R&B world and joining the management teams of IAMNOBODI, Devin Tracy and Anjali Taneja and soaked everything about the industry as I could in.
A year and a half later, I moved back to Los Angeles and worked as a freelancer on Multi-Grammy Winning producer and artist Frank Dukes on his debut album roll out, I then started working closely with Grammy Winning artist Lucky Daye, assisting in the tour of Grammy Nominated artist Kenyon Dixon and also joined the management team of 8X Platinum and Grammy Nominated artist Che Ecru While maintaining my artist management duties, I also work as a Product Manager at a new distribution service called Too Lost. I’ve dedicated my entire professional career servicing, developing and helping artists on their career and I have no plans of stopping.
Is there a success story or career milestone that you are most proud of?
Honestly I think my career milestone is reaching this point in my career where I’m fully working in the industry and I’m able to make a living all whilst dedicating my time to helping artists. Being on the management teams and working alongside artists that I love and want to support coming from Hong Kong is not something that happens. I’ve moved across to multiple continent’s to get to where I am in my career and want to keep progressing.
Are there any projects you’re working on or company updates that you’re most excited about?
Definitely in gear for new releases from all the artists I’ve been working with! Devin Tracy has a bunch of new singles we are dropping as well as Che that I’m super excited about supporting 🙂
Outside of your work in music, do you have any other hobbies/ particular areas of expertise/interest etc.?
I am in love with travelling and food! Coming from an international background, I’ve been super blessed to be able to try so many different cuisines and have grown up immersed in so many different cultures, I deeply enjoy cooking and cooking for my friends!
Anything else to add?
If you’re wanting to enter into the music industry, stay authentic to who you are as good people find good people!
