Which agency booked the most acts at Coachella 2023?
A show at Coachella – even on a side stage in a lousy time slot – is a coveted prize. While the true value of a short performance in Indio is debatable, at the very least, your name on the Coachella poster means bragging rights for the next year.
With a show at Coachella harder to get than a face-value Taylor Swift ticket, which booking agency delivers the most for their clients?
An analysis by online live music trade Rostr found that of the 23 booking agencies that booked acts at Coachella, the winner for the second year in a row measured by the total number of bookings was Wasserman, or as those in the business refer to the music Agency formerly known as Paradigm, TeamWass.
New this year, Rostr also created an Agency Festival Rank.
Beyond just looking at the number of acts booked, this score accounts for how high up on the lineup an artist is. The higher the billing, the higher the score. For example, the headliner scores 40x more points than a last-row billing.
Here too Wasserman is clearly #1.
Other major agencies like UTA, CAA, and WME all did well, but an Honorable Mention has to go to TBA, an agency formed during the pandemic by five formers Paradigm agents.
