Needle Music is a much-needed bridge between Spotify and social media
Spotify and most other streaming music platforms are missing the social connection that both fans and artists crave. Needle Music is working to solve that.
Despite their often successful efforts to use algorithms and professionally curated playlists to connect fans with music they’ll want to hear, most fans and artists want more.
The Needle Music app connects to the user’s Spotify account to offer a more social and interactive music experience, Fans and artists can share, discover and promote music through their growing ecosystem of casual fans, music influencers, and curators organized in music-based communities.
Active fans sharing music platforms are rewarded with points.
Needle plans to add connections to Soundcloud, Apple Music, and other streaming music platforms to the app soon.
For a deeper dive, the co-founder and CEO of Needle Music, Mikhael Porter, joins Michael Brandvold on the Music Business Weekly podcast to explain how the app works and what’s planned for the future.
Bruce Houghton is Founder and Editor of Hypebot and MusicThinkTank and serves as a Senior Advisor to Bandsintown which acquired both publications in 2019. He is the Founder and President of the Skyline Artists Agency and a professor for the Berklee College Of Music.

In Calypsoroom you listen together with your friends, strangers or artists, to the same music, at the same time, connected by webcams.
