Songtradr has acquired Musicube, a music metadata startup that offers metadata at scale for labels, publishers, and music supervisors and enables search for tracks, playlists and artists based on audiences, moods, genres, vocal features, instruments, and tempo.

TuneCore adds Snapchat
TuneCore has partnered with Snapchat, the original, global, ephemeral messaging app with over 306 million daily active users.
One perk is that Tunecore artists with Snapchat accounts of 30k followers or 50K story views now get a Verified Artist profile so that they can add and edit their public information and manage collaborations with other creators. Official Stories from Verified Artist accounts also have the potential to surface on Snapchat’s Discover section.
Symphonic to Canada
Symphonic Distribution is expanding in Canada via a strategic merger with Higher Reign Music Distribution,
Higher Reign Music Group’s recently launched music distribution division. HRMG executives Steeven Leblanc and Antoine Regniere will be in charge of overseeing Symphonic’s operations in Canada.

Sleeping Giant Music adds PR
Booking agency, Sleeping Giant Music announced that they will be launching a boutique public relations agency focusing on support for artists, record labels, venues, clubs, and festivals.
With offices in San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, and Nashville the booking agency has a roster that includes platinum-selling DJ and producer Darude, Seville-based Rafa Barrios, Dirtybird and Defected Records’ Harry Romero, international talent David Penn, Toolroom and Realm Records’ LA Riots, and current chart-topping Piero Pirupa.
