Soundcloud partnerships with Pandora, SiriusXM, Dash show commitment to artists that Spotify, other streamers lack

Over the last year, Soundcloud has formed partnerships with Pandora, SiriusXM, Dash Radio, and Australian broadcaster Southern Cross Austereo that show a unique commitment to artists that reaches well beyond its own platform.

While Spotify. Apple Music, Amazon Music and other music services have robust and laudable music and artist discovery efforts, all are based entirely on each service’s own platform.

But in moves that are good for both artists and its own brand, SoundCloud has gone off-platform to launch channels and shows on competing streamer Pandora, a hip hop show on satellite delivered SiriusXM and programming partnerships with online radio platform Dash and Australian broadcaster Southern Cross Austereo.

The result for the artists working to build an audience is more opportunities to be heard both on and off Soundcloud..

Expansion of Soundcloud, Pandora partnership

Following the rising hip hop-focused “The Lookout by SoundCloud” launch on Pandora last year, Soundcloud is adding more SCENES-inspired stations for other rising underground communities.

First up is “Digicore by SoundCloud” which will spotlight a “young, diverse, internet-inspired generation of innovative artists embracing boundless genre influences.” The station will feature artists like aldnangelusdltzkd0llywood1ericdoajuno, and midwxst, from SoundCloud’s top 5 fan-favorite playlist “Pop’s Next Generation: Digicore” and “Digicore” short documentary.
