A2IM Names Tommy Boy Prez Rosie Lopez Executive Chairperson
Rosie Lopez, president of Tommy Boy Entertainment, has been named chairperson of the American Association of Independent Music’s (A2IM) executive committee for the coming year.
Concord Music COO Glen Barros will serve as treasurer and Sub Pop Records president Tony Kiewel was named secretary.
The executive committee is elected by the A2IM board of directors, which also consists of Merge Records co-founder Laura Ballance, Kill Rock Stars president Portia Sabin, Robbins Entertainment VP Lisa Levy, Partisan Records managing director Zena White, Mom + Pop Music co-president Thaddeus Rudd, Beggars Group founder and chairman Martin Mills, Secretly Group co-CEO Darius Van Arman and RT Industries’ Victor Zaraya.
A2IM CEO Richard James Burgess said in a statement: “Year after year, A2IM has been expertly guided by the most experienced senior label executives who serve on its board and executive committee. A2IM is a not-for-profit trade organization whose mission is to promote growth, awareness, and opportunities for independent music through advocacy, education, and community. The board of directors meets up to 10 times a year to represent the membership, review the organization’s agenda and shape its priorities, among other duties.
