Universal Chooses Blu-ray Hi-Def Disc Format

Universal Music  Group is expected to underscore that fact Tuesday by announcing that it joined  the Blu-ray Disc Assn. as a contributing member, less than a week after Blu-ray formalized its content management and protection standards…Sony BMG already is a Blu-ray member, as could be expected because Sony Corp. developed the format…the two music companies combined represent 50% of all releases."
