Worth Quoting
"most people I talk to already giving this one a thumbs down. It has all the evilness minus the cool part." – Hypebot reader squashed on Microsoft & MTV’s URGE download store two days before it opened
"…I don’t like that these Silicon Valley scumbags like (Bill) Nguyen are just looking for ways to make money off of others’ efforts. Lying on their way to their IPO. Count me out. Like the rest of the public. Stealing files P2P and leaving BOTH (labels and LaLa) of these entities in the dust." – Music commentator Bob Lefsetz on LaLa.com
"I’m fed up with the industry and I’ve been fed up for quite some time. I’m taking a year off – no touring, no albums. I go for a walk every morning and I watch a ton of movies. One day, I watched three Woody Allen movies in a row. – David Bowie to New York Magazine
Who was squashed talking to? And can he/she define “evilness”?
That Lefsetz post about Lala.com, by the way, was one of his most ridiculous. There’s nothing illegal (fact) or even immoral (my opinion) about selling used CDs or enabling the swapping of used CDs. He disses used CDs but encourages P2P, neither of which pay either rights holders nor songwriters? There’s no logic there. Bad way to build an argument, Lefsetz, very bad.
evilness: must download wmp, drm/playsure, microsoft/MTV taking down CC# & address.
It’s only a matter of time until Microsoft and friends come knocking at yer door accusing ya financing terrorist activity by ripping music or something.
No thanks.
Here is a big proof, did anybody here pay for it for the whole year yet? hmmm…
There is another cool site where you can trade DVD’s for 99 cents, called PeerFlix.
