LA’s The Gig Debuts Ambitious Live Net Broadcast Schhdule

One of LA’s premier showcase clubs’ The Gig is joining the net broadcasting revolution.  The venue owned by writer/director Peter O’Fallon will stream and archive virtually every live performance at the club at LiveFromTheGig.com. ThegigO’Fallon is best known for directing cult favorites like "House," "Northern Exposure," the Sam Raimi-produced "American Gothic" and the feature film "Suicide Kings," starring Christopher Walken and Denis Leary.

"It’s a live recording with no second takes," says O’Fallon. "I really wanted to capture the feel of the Hollywood club going experience. Everyone has heard of the famous early shows of bands over the years. I want the world to experience that, be a part of it, and have it recorded."

Other nightclubs have experimented with net broadcasts and concert giant Live Nation last week announced plans to wire 120 larger concert halls, but The Gig is the first to commit to such an ambitious ongoing schedule.

Watch for Hypebot’s exclusive interview with O’Fallon later this week.

  1. Hey–How’s it feel to know your pay Donoto outed you on national TV for not paying payroll taxes? You’re both clowns.
