Nominate Top Indie D.I.Y. Info Sites
There are an endless array of web sites and blogs that offer advice to independent and d.i.y. musicians. But which sites are really worth your time? Which are most useful on a continuing basis?
Help out your fellow Hypebot readers by nominating 1 to 5 of your favorite web destinations (aside from Hypebot, of course) for indie musicians. We’ll take the most popular, add a few of our own and do some voting next week. The goal is not a single winner, but 5 or so "best of" sites.
I’ll start…
My favorite are (in no particular order):
Andrew Dubber’s New Music Strategies
http://www.newmusicstrategies.com
The Music Tank (of which I’m an author)
http://www.musicthinktank.com
You said aside from this one, but I like Hypebot, otherwise I wouldn’t read it or even comment on it so it goes on this list.
Can I add my Music Business Strategy blog at http://innerrhythm.org/blog/?
Those would be my top 4.

CD Baby DIY Music Podcast

By far the best I’ve heard (no offense to the others…). There’s a handful of episodes I still re listen to because of the quality of the information.
Coolfer.com & ProHipHop.com
the best for me is Andrew Dubbers
new music strategies
Music Think Tank for sure.
The Lounge on Sonicbids looks new but has some really great stuff on there already. I love the Quick Chat interviews.

My favorite is OurStage.com
My top 5 are:
knowthemusicbiz.com/
new music strategies
music think tank
hypebot

My top 3, in no particular order:
1. Bandzoogle
2. Nimbit
3. Audiosocket
There aren’t any others, including a few named above, that’re directly helping artists without helping themselves first…
in no specific order:
— MySpace
— Our Stage
— Musician’s Atlas
— Coolfer
— Know The Music Biz
MySpace has got to be the most helpful.
Facebook music these days too.
Hooka.com similar to MySpace/Facebook
Skoggins.com for booking (has a free mailer similar to Sonicbids)
Reverbnation.com has some cool widgets.
bought this months ago and it has generated ZILCH for me. I’d avoid it.
