I’ve been thinking a lot about free music lately.
For very good reasons, giving away music has become a top marketing tool. Done correctly it works. But too often not enough thought has been put into why, when, where and how the music is being given away.

I’m personally leaning toward’s Gerd Leonhard’s theory about moving away from selling copies toward selling access/experience. Exploring his musiclikewater.com site will definitely give some food for thought.
