Did They Have To Call It “Chicks With Picks”?
What's in a name? Sometimes too much. That's certainly the case with a new Phoenix, AZ festival that degrades the talented Jesse Colter by placing her alongside the now further downgraded Michelle Branch, Sarah Buxton and 70 probably talented Arizona women at the Chicks With Picks Festival.
What serious performer of the female gender wants to be lumped into the "chick" category? OK, maybe Katy Perry, but you get the idea.
What can we expect next? The Hicks That Pick Country Festival? The Flick Your Bic Festival Of Forgotten Classic Rock Bands? Should Motley Crue tour as Dudes With D….? Don't answer that.
Just because a few words roll off the tongue well together, doesn't mean they should.

It’s not that big a deal. You’re thinking too much into it.
The Festival was great, and inspired alot of kids to want to play guitar, along with showcasing alot of ones that did play. This will grow each year.
