Spotify iPhone App Aproved
Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek has confirmed that Apple has approved it's iPhone and iPod touch streaming application. The official status comes at a key time for both companies.
Apple has come under increased scrutiny for rejecting select applications that some see as competing with iTunes and other Apple products. Spotify smartly made iTunes the download partner for its app, but the approval still hints at a new attitude for Apple.
The approval gives Spotify a major additional advantage as it prepares to enter more territories including China and the United States. The US rollout could happen as early as September.
YES! Apple is finally willing to accept the streaming revolution……I’d expect the itunes store to start offering services like lala and spotify very soon indeed.

There is growing evidence that Apple is changing its tune. Everyone is… Things are in the shift if you ask me. No telling where it will all land, but I am willing to say that there is no system in place that is on solid ground. Social networking is changing faster than we can pay attention as well. I have a recent blog post on that very subject http://www.onlineartistpromo.com
In short my suggestion to Independent Musicians is… Diversify… Get out there use the best quality resources you can and as many as possible.

This was probably inevitable – I guess we’ll see some changes at Apple soon as they don’t like to stand still.
I just wonder if the majors will be chasing Spotify for more dosh or will they be looking at the small print in their agreement and wondering…
Watch this space.

Yep. At some point, the entire history of recorded music will be available somewhere in the cloud, at which point, having a hard drive in your iPod will be pointless.
