Lady Gaga’s YouTube Account Suspended For “Severe Violations”
She may drive more traffic to YouTube than just about anyone else, but visitors to Lady Gaga's YouTube channel we're in for a surprise this morning. "This account has been suspended due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's Copyright Policy" read the banner across the top of the page.
According to Time Out Tokyo, Gaga's account was suspended because of footage from her appearance on the Japanese TV show "SMAP x SMAP." The video taken down overnight on July 12 following a copyright-infringement claim from Media Interactive, Inc.
Gaga's Vevo channel, also available at YouTube, is still active.
LOL
hahahaha good riddance
Wow… Big money talks!!!
I’m glad that YouTube is using the situation to set a strong example. Infringement is expensive and difficult to police. Maybe this will get some peoples’ attention.
