Our artists Michael Martin Murphey, Casey Desmond, Diego’s Umbrella and Head For The Hills are all showcasing, and Kristin Hersh is a judge at SXSW's music tech Accelerator contest. Head For The Hills Named “Best of Colorado,” via the Westword Music Showcase (Denver, CO) and winners of Yonder Mountain String Band’s-Northwest String Summitt Band Competition, Head for The Hills has performed, supported, & shared programming with such notables as: David Grisman, Sam Bush, The Flaming Lips, Ben Folds, Bruce Hornsby, Emmylou Harris, Cake, Little Feat, Nickel Creek, and The Avett Brothers. Michael Martin Murphey Singer-songwriter Michael Martin Murphey & The Rio Grande Band (featuring NeweGrass Revival guitarist Pat Flynn) form a skilled and fresh sounding bluegrass influenced style that makes you want to breathe a little deeper. Murphey is an articulate artist who loves history, literature, religion, his family and the land as much as he loves the music they inspire. Murphey left an indelible mark on American music with massive pop and progressive country hits like “Wildfire,” & “Carolina In The Pines”. In the 90′s, he was the top selling singer of American Cowboy Music in the world, and in 2009 earned a Grammy nomination for Bluegrass chart topper “Buckaroo Blue Grass”. Casey Desmond Selected by Adam Levine for his team on NBC’s The Voice after hearing her power through Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” Desmond belongs in the same echelon of electro-pop performers as Robyn, Natasha Khan(Bat for Lashes), Ladyhawke, and Alison Goldfrapp-all are sequined sirens able to lure listeners to the dance floor in seconds flat.
