At the annual General Meeting of the National Music Publishers' Association, David Israelite renewed his calls to Congress to introduce a more efficient mechanical licensing system. He also took aim at online music video service VEVO, who publishers feel aren't paying enough for the use of their songs.

• Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) – one of the three US Performing Rights Organizations – has reached agreement with the Radio Music License Committee for the use of its repertoire through 2016. The truce ends two years of litigation.
