Beastmode.fm Sources Top Blogs In One Simple Music Player
Los Angeles-based startup Beastmode.fm has
built a music discovery platform that not only sources content from some of the
top music recommendations sites on the web, but also requires no licensing.
Built around some of the top music bloggers, Beastmode aggregates content of
2,200 curated music blogs and free-to-play platforms including SoundCloud, YouTube,
MixCloud, and Pitchfork into a single music player.
Currently in public beta, Beastmode
users consume content in one of two ways. They can either follow individual music
blogs in an RSS-like experience, with new music added to the listening que as
it’s posted online, or they can lean back and select one of 64 genres and
receive content from across the company’s network. Standard features like playlists
and favorites are also included.

Beastmode is free, extremely easy to
use, and offers a wide selection of the newest music as it hits the Web. It's
currently available as a desktop app, but the company plans to release an
Android app by the end of this week, and has an iOS app in development set to release
in early 2013. The company plans to earn money through iTunes and Google Play affiliate fees from music downloads
originating through their platform.
