House Party In A Soundrop Listening Room Wins Swedish Grammi

We think Soundrop, the group listening platform, is cool for a number of reasons:
- It just put listening rooms on Facebook.
- Its listening rooms apparently can scale like crazy due to the use of some arcane technology from Ericsson called Erlang.
- They can also exist concurrently in different places on the internet. Like, if you’re in a band, you can have spin your new album live to thousands of people on Facebook, on your band’s web page, and within Spotify, all at the same time. The people will “see” each other.
- Oh yeah, it was a launch partner of Spotify’s app platform (Spotify is an investor in the company).
- There’s an app for that.
And now, this group listening platform and its multiple apps have gone and won a Swedish Grammy (spelled “Grammi”) for Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso, due to a group listening party they DJed last May within Soundrop’s Spotify desktop app.
“Soundrop helped Sebastian Ingrosso (Swedish House Mafia) and Alesso to a win at the Swedish Grammis,” Soundrop spokesman Thomas Ford tells Evolver.fm.
”The guys won as the ‘Year’s Innovator’ for the House Party they hosted with Spotify and Soundrop. I think this shows the power of social listening and the Soundrop experience.”
He referred us to an article in Swedish about the party. Via Google Translate,
“It is grease. We are happy crap. This kind of price is very important. Being an innovator in anything is impressive. Being able to work together and reach out to our fans in different ways, as when we did that house party, it was a small new thing so it’s great that we get recognition for it.”
That probably makes more sense in Swedish, but anyway, congratulations is in order.
