Kabodler Brings DIY Ticketing With Downloads To PledgeMusic
News that PledgeMusic had partnered with Kabodler as an eticketing solution inspired me to take a look at this company that has been rather quiet for the last year. Kabodler has an interesting approach with the ability to include downloads with ticket sales or promotional offers for redemption at shows. They're a reminder that even a simple ticket sale can lead to greater engagement with fans.
Kabodler recently joined the ranks of an ever growing group of PledgeMusic partners making their services available to users of PledgeMusic.
It's a nice sign of life for Kabodler whose web presence shows some noticeable gaps and whose iOS app remains long overdue. But maybe connecting with PledgeMusic users will inspire more public contact.
Add Downloads & Promo Offers to Etickets
Kabodler offers an e-ticketing service that allows you to market, sell and redeem tickets with the additional help of the Kabodler Door App.
One of their more interesting features is the ability to "attach one download per ticket, one external promotion per ticket and up to 5 custom fields per ticket."
So you could offer your fan or future fan a free download of a new song to thank them for buying and to get them excited about the show. You could include a promotional item to redeem at the show such as a free drink.
You can also collect useful information using custom fields for promotional vouchers.
Engaging Your Fans Through Ticket Sales
As PledgeMusic points out, "you can start engaging your fans even through ticket sales."
Kabodler presents the concept in terms of downloads and items at the show but one could attach other forms of promotional offerings to encourage engagement between the ticket purchase and the event.
Music downloads are an obvious and potentially powerful choice prior to a performance. However one could also partner with local merchants for special deals, for example, offering a percentage off at the local record store.
For a local show where it's easier to arrange special deals or any show for which you're organizing promotional events, considering tie-ins to ticket purchases is a smart idea. Engaging fans between purchase and event offers the potential for building a deeper relationship during a receptive period as well as increasing possible ticket sales to friends and contacts of that fan.
I'm not sure how widely available such ticketing features are at this point but one could certainly develop workarounds such as a mailing to ticket buyers after purchase.
Hopefully we'll see a fresh stage of development at Kabodler with even more great ideas based on lessons they've learned to date.
