Music Marketing With Vaporizer Mixtapes and Fake Parking Tickets

Banned-3d-coverFinding fun ways to catch people's attention that tie into one's music is not always that easy. Flosstradamus apparently has a thing for aromatherapy and essential oils or, at least, that seems to be the thinking behind their vaporizer and hard drive combo featuring their latest mixtape "Banned 3D." While I Am Trigg is busy spreading fake parking tickets to promote his "Stop and Frisk" protest song.

Flosstradamus and the Art of Aromatherapy

Flosstradamus released the first two editions of their "Banned" mixtape series on SoundCloud as free streams and downloads. For "Banned 3D" they're getting a bit more physical:

"THE OFFICIAL FLOSSTRADAMUS VAPORIZER HARD DRIVE IS THE FIRST OF IT'S KIND. NOT ONLY IS IT A VAPORIZER THAT CAN HANDLE YOUR FAVORITE OILS BUT IT ALSO CARRIES A 6 GB HARD DRIVE. THIS FIRST RELEASE WILL COME WITH THE NEW BANNED 3D MIX! EXCLUSIVELY AVAILABLE ONLY ON THE VAPORIZER FOR A LIMITED TIME!"

At $50 one has to wonder about the quality of the components, except for Flosstradamus's work, of course.

Don't forget:

"THIS PRODUCT IS INTENDED TO BE USED WITH AROMATHERAPY HERBS"

Faketicket-trigg

That big orange ticket! Is it fake or a savvy New York music promotion?

"Scanning the QR code in question leads you to the slickly produced music video for 'Stop and Frisk' by a rapper named I Am Trigg, who denounces the NYPD in a Future-esque staccato flow."

This affair set off a deep and nuanced discussion on Reddit.

Job well done!

And that's it for another edition of "ALL CAPS IN QUOTES DAY."

  1. Cool idea and it will probably sell. Aromatherapy is super popular right now and vaporizers are becoming more common place than ever so I like the creative twist of adding a hard drive to the mix.
