Big Blues Bender Brings Luxury Indoor Fests To U.S. – A New Direction For Festivals
Want to attract an adult audience to your music festival? Promise them a nice hotel room and a guarantee the won't get rained on. Echoing a trend that began in Europe almost ago, that's premise behind the inaugural Big Blues Bender Festival set for the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. "No port-o-potties! A festival lineup in an upscale environment," reads the fest's advertising. "No long treks between stages! Everything is an elevator ride away."
Set for Sept. 25-28, the festival features a lineup that includes headliners B.B. King and George Thorogood & The Destroyers along with the Blind Boys of Alabama, Buckwheat Zydeco, Charlie Musselwhite, Ana Popovic Tab Benoit and Coco Montoya among others.
Festival packages, including lodging at the Riviera Hotel & Casino and tickets to the five-day festival, begin at $599 plus tax and applicable fees per person.
