Robert Plant Ripped Up Richard Branson’s $800 Million Offer To Reunite Led Zeppelin

robert plantParticularly in this age of mega-sponsorship deals and music in advertising, there's something noble about a musician who says 'no, this doesn't feel right'  to a big pile of money.  Robert Plant apparently did just that with an offer from Sir Richard Branson to do just 35 shows with his old Led Zeppelin bandmates.

Plant is said to have ripped up contract for 35 dates in just three cities in front of "astonished promoters" after the other members of Zep had already signed it.

A source close to the band told the Daily Mirror:

When he said no and ripped up the paperwork he had been given, there was an enormous sense of shock.

They have tried to talk him round but there is no chance…His mind is made up and that’s that.”

  1. Amazing if true. But the Daily Mirror isn’t exactly known as a very reliable source, to say the least..
