Deezer Expands U.S. Presence, Names Beth Murphy Chief Marketing Officer
As it expands further into the crucial U.S, market, digital music streaming service Deezer has named Beth Murphy as Chief Marketing Officer. She will be focused on leading Deezer's global brand, along with product marketing, product management, acquisition, engagement and customer service efforts for the U.S. and global verticals.
Murphy takes on her role of CMO following Zinio, where she was responsible for marketing, business development and product management for the world's largest digital magazine newsstand and top rated app. She has also held product and marketing leadership roles at Travelocity, Yahoo, Visa, Intuit, Clorox, Digg and Stitcher.
"I'm excited to combine my passions for music and mobile apps with a great product like Deezer," said Murphy. "We look forward to growing the music streaming category with differentiated services and experiences that change how music lovers everywhere discover and enjoy their favorite songs and artists."
In her 20 plus year career, Murphy has held executive roles managing all aspects of marketing and more recently leading disruptive mobile first efforts with top rated apps like Yahoo!, Zinio, Travelocity and Stitcher. Her appointment coincides with the launch of Deezer Elite, the acquisition of Stitcher, and bringing U.S. music fans the Deezer service through Sonos and Bose products for the first time this Fall.-
