  1. Happy Holidays everyone. I’m looking forward to making connections in the music industry and have just begun getting involved with licensing my own music. I’ve had some recent success placing my song “Always” with a couple of libraries and am looking forward to making more music. You can hear “Always” at https://soundcloud.com/gary-l-rebholz/always, and check out more of my music on my website at http://www.garyrebholz.com/Audio.php. There is also a contact form on my website and would be happy to make contact with anyone in the community that has anything to say–the good and the bad!

  2. Hi Everyone. We’re a startup based in London who are developing a technology to enable all musicians to make their own music videos quickly and easily. We’ve brought together an incredible team to build a video engine that is specifically designed for music videos and can be used in the browser. It’s accessed through our website https://rotorvideos.com and can generate videos in ten minutes. Just three simple steps and your done!
Right now, it’s a prototype version that’s a bit rough and ready, but feel free to try it out and let us know what you think. Once we close of our current investment round we will push out the full beta version which will be much much better and will incorporate feedback from our early users. We want to put the power back in musician’s hands and enable them to create videos in a few clicks without needing software, production skills or large budgets.
    Much Love and Happy Holidays,
    Rotor Team

Liz Friedman of Green Room Artist Development (on twitter as @LizbethFriedman) … working on a bringing new music to life that was written by a young classical composer who passed away at age 25 of synovial sarcoma. Specifically presenting a concert to premiere a body of his chamber music. An interesting process to present “new music” when the composer is not alive. About to get into the ASCAP application process for posthumously registering his works and publishing them.
For the shameless plug …. here’s the story, the concert info … any insights are always welcome! Thank you!

  6. Greetings artists and helpers. I’m always checking in here to see what is new with music. I have found a home at BMI, Bandcamp, CD Baby, Facebook, SiriusXM and more with 30 albums so far, explorations of our musical universe via vintage and contemporary keyboards and software in the genres of electronic, space, synthesizer, neoclassical, ambient, and soundtrack music.

  8. First off, I want to thank Hypebot for creating opportunities like this. Very cool.
Secondly, I’m a musician/radio DJ/music business professional based out of Kansas City and I love talking with people and learning about them and their career path. If any of you are in the music field, and want to chat, please drop me a note at aerecording[at]gmail[dot]com.
I’m looking to build my resume here in KC with the intention of getting out to LA within the next year to try my hand in the industry. If you know of anyone who is hiring or looking for someone to help them out virtually (for the time being) and could pass my info along, I’d really appreciate it.
Happy holidays and I hope to hear from some of you soon! Cheers~Alex

  10. Hi, I’m Dave.
I’ve just started a my new private label Coprolalia Digital, and I’m proud of the first album we are scheduled to release on January 19. It’s the first album for the newly formed electronic group Drifter Mage. We’ve worked hard on this record, with writing/performance/arrangement/production occurring simultaneously in Japan and the US for the past two years.
I’m interested in sharing experiences with others who are just starting out, since I’m a bit of a noob.
Watch this space for more info on the forthcoming album:

  11. Hello fellow music tech enthusiasts! Looking forward to connecting with many of you this year as we hit market.
We’ve just launched Looplabs, a free cloud-based music creation platform built for anyone who wants to make music. Regardless of technical skills or ability, our simple and intuitive interface makes making music fun and easy. We offer more than 30,000 royalty free loops, spanning all genres, that with our software instantly lock into both tempo AND key. Building a track to use for videos, for fun or the basis for a track couldn’t be easier.
We’re now partnering with content owners, producers and artists so if you are a producer interested in having your sounds and beats on our platform, or if you are an artist interested in the power of remix and having your tracks hosted in a custom branded studio for free – now is the time to reach out!

  12. This is a great idea! I’m looking forward to reading through these posts and seeing what everyone has planned for 2016.
Me? I’m launching a new print publication called Stupid Magazine. It’s about pop music and the the fan experience, and my goal is to bring together a diverse and talented pool of contributors to write thoughtful essays about music. And to have an awesome puzzle page.
    Learn more here: https://medium.com/@HollyKnowlman/i-m-starting-a-music-magazine-b3aa3c2e628f#.5b6s056km
Right now I’m gearing up for a Kickstarter campaign and need all the help I can get. If you’re interested in what I’m doing, you can sign up at http://stupidmagazine.com.
Feel free to reach out direct at any time – holly@stupidmagazine.com
    Cheers, and happy new year.

  13. I totally dig this concept, and I’d love to see you leverage this as a way of educating musicians about the importance of pushing content out fast and getting feedback. One thing that would be helpful (I think) for conversions is more browsable examples of what you can do with Rotor.
    Good luck!

  15. Hey Everyone, my name is Steve Garvin and I’m a songwriter and producer here in New York. I try to make well-written, honest pop music. In 2016, I’m planning to release my first full length album, put together a crack live band, and ramp up the marketing efforts, starting with a Facebook ad campaign. I have a few songs up at https://soundcloud.com/stevegarvin and all the usual channels. I am also looking to expand my ‘label’/’collective’ Triple Fool, so if you like what you hear holler at me! stevegarvinmusic@gmail.com.

P.S. I recently did an interview if you’re interested. We talk about my background, inspirations, songwriting style, among other things. http://hwcdn.libsyn.com/p/7/9/5/7951267d7e80c100/durastar_151126b_steve_garvin.mp3?c_id=10493909&expiration=1451330411&hwt=a12cafa3cb5ade47f9a245c6b731070b

  16. Hey Everybody! First, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
I’m an emcee from Brooklyn New York, so if any of you like Hip-Hop, you should check out my website: http://www.therealmikewilson.com
I’ve been meaning to learn Japanese and go over to Japan to perform, so it’s a bit of a focus for 2016. So if anyone have any advice or know of any opportunities for artist to travel, please let me know! I’m also releasing my first full album and stuff. So yeah, best of luck of everybody!

  17. Hey, yeah it’s an interesting idea.
    Couple of questions.
Your T&C’s state that the videos created must be for personal, non-commercial use. I’m not sure how this service helps musicians who are releasing tracks, as we’ll be needing videos we can use commercially. Can you explain, please?
I’m interested in seeing how it works and would like to try creating a video, just to check out the process. I don’t want to use the video anywhere at the moment but I also don’t want it to be stuck up on your site somewhere for everyone else to be able to see, as it’s just an experiment. There’s nothing in your T&C’s about Rotor’s use of the videos. If I make a video, will it end up being used on your site as an example or will it stay private, only for my eyes.
    Thank you!

  22. Recording artists, producers, entrepreneurs, marketers… get your web properties situated. You need a team. You need your own web properties. You need YOUR OWN PLATFORM. You need to be able to leverage the traffic and real estate to maximize revenues. Social media is nice when you want to promote your work. However, YOU DON’T OWN ANY OF THAT SOCIAL MEDIA THAT YOU SPEND SO MUCH TIME ON. And you need a developer who can manage all of that! Here’s where I come in!
I’ve worked with bloggers, amateur and veteran artists, producers, labels, execs, small and Fortune 500 businesses. Contact me! I get results.
