Neil Young Archives Open With FREE Access To His Massive Catalog

image from www.rirocks.net[UPDATED] Neil Young has released his Archives, a website and streaming platform featuring virtually everything he has recorded as a soloist or in a band including Buffalo Springfield and Crosby Stills Nash and Young. Access to the site is free in exchange for an email address. 

The entire Neil Young Archive will be free to stream through June 30. 2018.  But while Young controls many of the masters, there is no word as to how the various other performers, writers and rightsholders will be compensated.

The Archive is both a deep dive in the career of a prolific rock icon and another chapter in his ongoing campaign to encourage the industry to adopt improved audio standards.

Some unreleased recordings In the archive including Chrome DreamsHomegrown, and Freedom Live are listed but not yet available. Young’s new album with Promise of the Real, The Visitor, was released on Friday.
