CD Baby Donates Share Of Digital Sales To Hurricane Relief: ‘Using Music To Benefit Others’

image from diymusician.cdbaby.com All this week, CD Baby is donating the net proceeds from all digital sales on the CD Baby music store to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.  We asked Kevin Breuner, CD Baby's Director of Marketing, what motivated the company to launch this campaign.

Cdbaby"We've been looking for more opportunities as a company to reach out to our local community and to our neighbors around the world," Breuner told Hypebot. "It's also important for us to provide opportunities for our artists to use their music to the benefit of others. With Hurricane Harvey, and all the other natural disasters that have left communities in need of relief, this seemed like an obvious fit. The money raised will go to the Red Cross which has boots on the ground all around the world."

Breuner also shared that he's encouraged to see that many indie musicians are telling their fans about the fundraiser, particularly on Twitter.

The fundraiser runs thru Friday, September 15th (11:59pm PST), and the money collected will be given to the Red Cross who is actively working on the ground with Harvey and Irma victims.
