Prince’s Songs Were Streamed 4.7 Million Times In First 2 Days
Talk about pent-up demand. On the partial first day that the bulk of Prince's catalog was again available on all the major streaming music services, his songs were streamed 1 million times. And then plays grew exponentially on day 2. Here, via Nielsen, are the impressive stats:

Two Day Streaming Stats For Prince
- From a baseline artist total on Saturday of around 37K streams for Prince's catalog (limited availability, pre-wide release) the streams grew to over 1M on Sunday a 2800% increase)
- The grew to nearly 3.7M on Monday (a 9700% increase).
- In the first two full days (Sunday and Monday complete data) of his wide release of streaming content, Prince's catalog was streamed over 4.7M times, which is more than his catalog has been streamed this entire year prior to wide release (4.3M YTD through 2/9).
- Three songs have had over 300K streams in two days, including Purple Rain (333K), Let's Go Crazy (327K) and When Doves Cry (320K). Little Red Corvette (237K) and Kiss (214K) round out the top 5.
