In an interview with CNN, Tom Barrack, chairman of the Presidential Inauguration Committee told the news network that Kanye West wasn't invited to perform as he was not a good fit for the inauguration festivities.
"It's going to be typically and traditionally American, and Kanye is a great guy, we just haven't asked him to perform. And we move on with our agenda," Barrack said.
Kanye publically praised Trump's off-the-cuff and blunt manner of speaking several times during the elections and met with the real estate mogul in December, posing for an awkward photo with the President-Elect in the lobby of Trump Tower.
Performers who did make the traditional American cut for various inaugural events include Lee Greenwood, 3 Doors Down, Irish stepdancer Michael Flatley, Cowboy Troy, Big & Rich, Silhouettes, The Rockettes, Pelican212, The Piano Guys,Tony Orlando and Josh Weathers.
