Live Nation Sold 29 Million Concert Tickets In 2015, No One Else Was Even Close
I remember when Robert Sillerman (yes, the same guy who behind troubled EDM promoter SFX) began buying old school concert promoters like Cellar Door, Bill Graham and Don Law to roll them up into a giant live music conglomerate now called Live Nation. Could such radical idea work? Could it survive?

Live Nation sold almost twice as many tickets as nearest ticket selling rival AEG Live in 2015.
Live Nation sold 29,256,967 tickets to its shows in 2015, with AEG in second place on 14,727,426, according to year-end figures.
UK based SJM Concerts was fifth with 2,647,230, behind family entertainment specialist Feld Entertainment in third (4,404,637) and Mexico`s OCESA/CIE (3,189,552) in fourth.
The Top 10 was rounded off by Germany`s Marek Lieberberg Konzertagentur, South American promoter T4F, Australia`s Frontier Touring Company, US-based MSG Entertainment and Mexico`s Zignia Live.
Ireland`s biggest promoter MCD Productions placed 14th, selling 1,284,855 tickets, while Aiken Promotions was 35th after 549,210 ticket sales.

Live Nation sold 59 million tickets last year… and this year they only sold 29 million?? Metrics like this from Celebrity Access and Pollstar are just wrong and misleading. If you don’t have all the data, don’t pretend you do.
