Google Offers A Playable Homepage. Let’s Hear Your Musical Creations

image from www.google.comUPDATE – Due to popular demand Google is leaving it's special playable home page up through Friday in the US. Start  creating and share it here!

On today's Google homepage, you’ll find a, playable guitar inspired by Les Paul. He experimented with innovative recording techniques like multitracking and tape delay. In keeping with that spirit, U.S. users can click a  button to record a 30-second track. We want you to share your creations with us.

Just strum the strings or trigger notes with the letters or numbers on your keyboards. Clicking the button again will display a link to share the songs you’ve made.

If you’re curious, Google says the doodle was made with a combination of JavaScript, HTML5 Canvas (used in modern browsers to draw the guitar strings), CSS, Flash (for sound) and tools like the Google Font API, goo.gl and App Engine.

Try it out here. Then paste the url of your creation below in the comments. We'll pick a few of the most creative and highlight them next week here and on our Facebook page.
