Muzak Sold For $345 Million

Who knew there was so much money in background music? The sector's top provider in the U.S. Muzak has been sold to its Canadian competitor Mood Media for a whopping $345 million.  The move makes Mood a global competitor, and comes at a time when background music is getting increased competition from everything from satellite radio to an employee's iPod plugged into a sound system.
