Facebook Soars To 41% Of All Social Traffic
According to comScore March data, Facebook traffic now makes up 41% of social traffic. MySpace ranks second at 24%. Gmail (which I don't consider a part of the social landscape) grabbed 15% and Twitter is at 8%. That's quite a change from 2009 ahen MySpace was in the lead with 38% of site visits over Facebook at 33%.

This is no surprise to most of us. My real concern about Facebook’s popularity is whether they will really start catering to musicians. Myspace, despite a dreadful interface, still has far better features for musicians. I’d like to see Facebook take more of an interest in a musician-specific page.
There are some Facebook apps that are allowing for a more ‘musical’ experience. Check out an example of what can be done with a Root Music app which has a music player and allows for the band’s branding imagery.

I am sure that more and more apps will be available for bands on Facebook as the site’s popularity continues to grow.
