Bandcamp Exits Beta With Bit Of A Bang
Bandcamp, a (for the moment) free service that empowers artists to sell their music direct to fans and spread it across the net, has exited beta with a number of new features.
- Four sizes of embedded players. You can customize the background and font colors.
- Faster site loading and downloads
- The ability to generate download codes for giveaways. These individualized codes can be integrated into many email programs like Constant Contact and printed onto custom printed Moo mini-cards.

We are using BANDBOX. Much better service.
Why do you think Bandbox is better?
Bandbox looks slicker, I’ll give them that. Plus, it appears they have a bunch of well known artists using their service (Taylor Swift, Amy Grant, Jewel, etc). They’re in private beta though, so I’m waiting for my invitation to kick the tires a little more thoroughly.
I’d be interested to see if they have the ability to give away your tracks in exchange for someone joining your mailing list. That’s the feature of Bandcamp that I like the most.
I’m surprised they get a lot of requests for download codes. PLUGOLA has download codes and barely anyone uses them.

Thanks for your support of Bandbox. If there is anything that we can help you out with, please let me know.
